1 October marks the start of a new waka ama season - you can now affiliate your members for 24/25 season. Your current club members will be retained in your Members List and ready for your Club Rep to affiliate for the new season. There will be an increase in affiliation fees of $2 across all age groups - the first increase in these costs since 2007. Follow the link for more info.

Te Ara a Kewa Waka Ama Trust invite you to enter the annual Ki Uta Ki Tai Waka Ama Challenge event. Held on Labour Weekend, Saturday October 26th, at Lake Te Anau. There are races for rangatahi and pakeke, ranging from 1.5km to 15km, and a whanau festival all day. Contact your club administrator to enter. Entries close Tuesday October 22nd.

Our boy with the hoe has done it!! E rere ana ngā mihi whakanui ki a koe! Congratulations to Peter Cowan on winning the first-ever Aotearoa Para Va’a medal at the 2024 Paralympic Games in Paris! Crossing the line in third place with an amazing time of 48.28 to secure the bronze!

Final races in the Mauao Series at Mt Maunganui. Races start in Pilot hay (Waikorire) Tauranga Harbour and head out and around Motu o tau (Rabbit is) for single and doubles and W6 Novice crews. Distance 10km. For W6 crews we have a 16km course that's heads down the coast and returns to Pilot Bay. It's a good opportunity for some good ocean paddling as a lead into racing with LDNs just around the corner.
