It was a great turn out and pleasing to have teams from Taranaki, Ahuriri, Heretaunga and Whanganui compete alongside those from Porirua, Wellington and Wairarapa.

An awesome team of club volunteers, paddlers and supporters in action on the day made this event run smoothly off the water while on water we experienced fairly challenging conditions in terms of wind. Once again the sun was out giving our paddlers and spectators time to enjoy catching up with friends and whanau over hot soup and kai in between races.   I would especially like to thank our on water team during the race that monitored weather and safety of participants ensuring they all had a great race and experience on Te Whanganui a Tara and making my role as Race Director enjoyable.
