AROCA’S VISION

To celebrate and promote the unique ability of our sport, waka ama, to contribute to the health, the wellbeing, the excitement and the values of our community….to grow our sport, raise its profile, to provide regular events, including international events,  of the highest quality…..to provide excellence in the administration of our affairs….to develop our sport competitively, socially and culturally….every secondary school participates in waka ama…our clubs thrive and nurture all our members, young and old…..we are a force on the national and international stage

Auckland Region Outrigger Canoe Association/ AROCA have recently undergone a governance restructure and we are now looking for nominations for our first Governance Board.   Nominations are due by 5pm by 16 September 2015

The Board will be made up of 5 elected board members and 2 appointed board members. We are currently calling for nominations for the 5 elected positions.

Nominations can be made by Member Clubs. You can nominate any individual, they do not need be a member/paddler of your club.

We are seeking board members who will take an active involvement in the sports governance and best interests of its membership as a whole.

All Nominees must be honest, reliable, trustworthy and comfortable to walk and talk the values of our sport (as outlined in our draft strategic plan).

The nominees will be elected from the nominations, based on the skills that best provide for the needs of our organisation. This final list of Nominees along with their profiles will be posted on the AROCA facebook by 16 September 2015.

Nomination forms are attached and must be received complete with relevant nominee profile and references by 5pm on 16 September 2015.

Votes from Member Clubs must be submitted by 5pm on 4 October 2015.

Successful nominees will be announced at the Auckland Region Outrigger Canoe Association AGM in Auckland 18th October 2015.
