New Zealand V1 World Distance Paddler Profiles - Yvonne Rogers

Meet our Aotearoa Master 50 Women Representative - Yvonne Rogers. Not only is Yvonne representing Aotearoa in the V1 but she is in the Master 50 Women’s V6 team AND is the manager of the Elite Premier Women’s Team. Ka mau te wehi! Yvonne is a passionate paddler and her infectious smile can be found at most races every other weekend. Yvonne has a vast experience of racing internationally and we are really looking forward to supporting her as she takes on the top Master 50 women from around the world. We would like to wish Yvonne and her team a fantastic build up for the IVF Va'a World Distance Champs!

Outward Bound Scholarships for Waka Ama Paddlers 2019

There are a number of Outward Bound opportunities for paddlers aged 18-26yrs old for 21-day Classic course! You will get the opportunity to take part in waka ama as a part of your outward bound course! Wananei!

New Zealand V1 World Distance Paddler Profiles - Greg Aussie Jones

I te rā nei, we get to learn a little about Greg "Aussie" Jones. As his name describes he grew up in Australia but has been paddling in Aotearoa since 2003. Greg will be representing Aotearoa in the Master 50 V1 Men’s division. Another very competitive division which will see him take on paddlers from the likes of Tahiti, Niue, Singapore, Hawaii, Australia, Italy, Canada and Brazil to name a few!!! We would like to wish Greg all the best for his build up over the next few months before he returns to Australia ready to battle it out on the water - this time in black!!!

New Zealand V1 World Distance Paddler Profiles - Kacey Ngataki

Our next profile takes a look at one of our most exciting up and coming paddlers - Kacey Ngataki. Kacey will represent Aotearoa in the Junior 19 Men V1 Division – an extremely competitive division, but without a doubt…Kacey is the man for the job! With a silver medal at the 2019 Sprint Nationals, 1st place at the Aotearoa Aito and crossing the line first at the 2019 LDNS to secure his position as the J19 Men V1 representative for Aotearoa - Kacey has had an outstanding few months! Kia kaha, kia māia, kia manawanui Kacey!

New Zealand V1 World Distance Paddler Profiles - Liz Tane

Our next profile takes a look at another one of our wahine toa heading to Mooloolaba this coming August. Liz Tane will represent Aotearoa in the Master 60 Women V1 Division, Liz is also a member of the Master 60s V6 Womens team. With a 2018 World Sprints V1 medal to her name, Liz will be a strong contender at the World Distance Champs. We wish Liz and her team all the best as they prepare over the next few months!

First up Marianna Hodges from PCKC who will be battling it out against the best of the best open women at the World Distance Champs!
