Hauraki Waka Ama whānau would like to thank all those who participated in this event. It began with a beautiful sunset out on Te Moananui a Kiwa followed by an eventful day of racing. Paddlers were greeted with some good swells along the beach at the start of each race and some great bumps were caught on the way back in.

We are a new club and with mounting interest in the area of junior teams wanting to compete in the Rotohoe series and train towards nationals, we are looking for support from our waka ama whanau.

Saturday 20th May at ASB Stadium Whangarei, tickets are $15 for kids and $30 for adults - ticket includes nibbles, 2 course dinner, entertainment and DJ.

Congratulations to all of the teams that raced during what was a wonderful week of Secondary School Waka Ama. Thank you to the 100 plus schools coming from all over Aotearoa, a special mention to all of the managers, coaches, mums, dads, bus drivers and everyone that made it possible for our students to attend the event. Last but not least thank you to our major sponsor Te Wānanga o Aotearoa and to the massive crew at Te Waiariki Purea Trust for putting together a truly spectacular event.
