Hauraki Summer Series full results now available

It was a great series with Race 1, hosted by the Hauraki Waka Ama Club, held at Tanners Point instead of Waihi Beach due to the windy conditions. Race 2 in Whangamata was also windy so competitors enjoyed paddling up the estuary. Race 3 was the last race of the series, and ended with lots of excitement getting through the breakers in Whitianga! Well done to all competitors! Full results attached now.

Hauraki Series 2018 - Race 3 Results

The Hauraki Summer Series saw another successful event held at Buffalo Beach, hosted by Whitianga Community Waka Ama. With 40 entrants, some paddling in W1 and W6, the day was buzzing with action and excitement! There were a few learning experiences for those who hadn't paddled in the surf which added an interesting element to the day! Great feedback from paddlers with particular praise going to the safety boats for an excellent job on the water. A special mention should go to Milan Lukic who, along with a couple of surfers, rescued a swimmer in distress. While the person was unrelated to our event the outcome could have been much different without intervention.
