Te Pou Herenga Waka welcome you to join our GPMR 3-race W1 series event for 2026! This is an annual event that has been running since 2017 and is in memory of the club’s founder, George Pomana – a waka ama enthusiast and champion of helping rangatahi reach their full potential. It is the only
W1 exclusive event held in Tāmaki Makaurau out on the beautiful Waimāhia / Te Manukanuka o Hoturoa (Manukau Harbour).

The event is a full day of fun (competitive) racing, spot prizes, live music, food vendors and more... TPHW warmly welcomes everyone to come and test their paddling skills in the harbour – where you never know what you’re gonna get!
