Roadworks update SH1 Maungatautari - Pavement resurfacing activities January 2021

Just a heads up for those travelling from Tauranga & Rotorua to Sprint Nationals, there will some roadworks on SH1 just north of the Maungatautari Road turnoff.   Waka Kotahi are encouraging people travelling to the event to allow additional time for their journey or consider an alternative route.  You can find further travel information on the website at the following link: http://www.journeys.nzta.govt.nz/traffic. 

The Karapiro Dam Road will be closed for Intake Stop Log work on the revised dates:

Monday 18^th January 9:00am – 2:00pm - this is now the only day the Dam Road will closed during the Waka Ama Sprint Nationals. 

Monday 25^th January – Friday 29^th January

Tuesday 2^nd February – Friday 5^th February

Tuesday 9^th February – Friday 12^th February

Monday 15^th February – Friday 19^th February

Monday 22^nd February (to be used as a contingency day)

From 7:30am to 6:00pm daily

From 7:30am to 6:00pm daily

There will be no access across the dam during this time.

This will affect people travelling to the Waka Ama Sprint Nationals so plan your route and journey time carefully.
