Congratulations to our new World Champions, and also to those who didn't medal, but still put in just as much mahi to train, travel, and be here to compete with the best in the World.
A big congratulations to the organisers and the many volunteers who have worked so hard this week to put on a world class event. I know personally how much hard work, commitment and lack-of-sleep goes on behind the scenes in events like these, and this was one of the best events I have been too.
From what I gather quite a few of the New Zealand contingent are heading off to Banff (the Queenstown of Canada) in the next couple of days. Before making our way back home to share our experiences and our acheivements with our friends and whanau.
Have a safe journey home, I will leave you with a few pics to reflect on the week just been (I grabbed a few photos off facebook pages, if they are yours, I hope you don't mind).
Goodbye Canada (and Tim Horton's), thanks for having us.
See you in Rio de Janeiro, Brasil 2014.

Steven Harris - Well done to all the new zealand paddlers, but the time has now come to take this sport to another level, especially if it is to be taken seriously, our administrators at IVF level must be push harder to get this sport into the olympics,if C1 and K1 can be in,why not outriigger canoe, having the best open paddlers at the olympics would ensure many of our j19s that give the sport away to pursue higher education or work opportunities at least have an incentive to stay in the sport, not to mention an opportunity to give the sport more recognition, because only the waka community knew that these worlds were on.apart from some coverage on MTV,there was no coverage on any of the Mainstream media.
