Set sail e Koro, you were the strong hull of our whanau, that has begun to leak due to your departure

E Piripi, rest on your canoe as it embarks on your final journey to the Hawaiki of your Ancestors.
You have left a glistening calm to nurture the paddlers of Whaingaroa

Whaingaroa Whanau Hoe Waka is deeply saddened by the loss of one of our long time members Piripi Kereopa during the Whaingaroa Hoe
In the spirit of togetherness and determination the day's races were completed

Piripi's Tangihanga is at Poihakena Marae, Raglan.
Kai Hakari is 10am Wednesday, followed by final service 11am.
Piripi will be buried in Te Akau.

On behalf of the Manukau Outriggers Canoeing Club we send our condolensces and aroha to the Kereopa whanau who lost a loved one at your annual event this weekend gone. We can only take comfort in the knowledge that he passed away doing something that he loved and that his untimely death has only strengthened our waka ama whanau to support this event even more. We would appreciate it if you could mention our thoughts of love and comfort to the bereaved family.

Aratika Water Sports Club - Kia orana koutou te whanau o Kereopa

On behalf of the Aratika Water Sports club members, the AROCA World J16 Men and supporters who attended the Waingaroa regatta we send our condolences and aroha to the Kereopa Whanau and may they take comfort that Piripi as he continues his final journey on his waka that he will be joined by the waka ama paddlers who has gone before him.

Sandra - Mike, I've had some interest in the Windmill fleet in doing the Labor Day rtagtea and would like to know if the Windmill fleet is invited.I noticed that the date on the NOR is for last year.
