Peter (Nga Maata Waka OC) - KP was to me the spirit of waka ama, open and giving with a love for the water and very competitive in race mode.
I will miss his warm greetings every time we are in Kaiteriteri and his fond farewells at the pub.
The sea is a big place and has got bigger without KP to fill part of it, sure you are in a spot that is sunny and on a beach bro.

Fred Kahl - Good bye KP. You were the anchor man on our cycling trip to India in 2001. I will never forget the sight of you, guarding our luggage in Mumbai station, enthroned on it surrounded by dozens of Indian children sitting on the floor in silent awe of the Budda reincarnated. You are sadly missed.

Raniera. - K.P. Relaxed on the sea, let the tide flow and carry you to where you need to be. With turtle prays tatooed to your feet, your paddling with ancestral currents, in sync.
K.P soft talking and chuckling, peacefully chanting, steering, guiding and teaching, there for our unity.
A mentor for some, a competitor for others, K.P you would just be, and we would all have some fun.

Anon - Dear KP... one of my fondest & earliest memories of you was when I was being a ranger in the Abel Tasman Park & you sleeping on the floor of staff quarters, cause your tent leaked in the rain & you snored so loud I was reluctant to do so again!....
this message comes with sadness KP & with love because you have been a big part of my time here in the top of the south & will leave a gap...&
I know you will be in a better place right now..I do hope there is plenty of paddling in warm water.... will miss your hugs..Claire bear
