The Event called Bums on Seats was run on Sunday. Only a few paddlers braved the early morning Mothers Day start at Thornton (probably cause mum would not let them) and headed for Whakatane in perfect conditions.
A few good swells going out the bar gave the 8 Wakas some fun and then it was an easy cruise with the wind behind.
The afternoon paddle saw the young ones join in for a paddle up the river to the bridge and back. We will do it all again in a few weeks time.
