LDN 2011 - Results and Pics Day 1
Great day here in Gisborne For the New Zealand Post Long Distance Waka Ama Nationals 2011.
Weather was cold but nice sea conditions, nice swells with a bit of wind.
Everyone was saying it was great and there was plenty of hot soup for all.

Katja Hildebrandt - This was my fourth LDN and the best organised of all.
Yes, their were some hick-ups. And like all other LDN their were problems with the distances and turning points.
But I appreciated most that everything went according to the schedule. We didn't have to sit around and wait.
The briefing made always clear what we were supposed to do.
During the race I felt always safe, you had enough boats to cover all of us.
Nice food after the race and a wonderful meal on Sunday. And hot showers!!!
It was a very beautiful place to paddle.
And it was worth to travel all the way to take part in this competition.
Thank you to all the hard working people, making that happen.

Good Work - Very well ORGANISED big ups to Tim and the crew down there in gizzy the food was the best steak and egg burger after the race it was well worth the entry fee the race course was good for spectators also very well planed TUOTR mean! also i like the new medals they look real good!
