Kia ora and Greetings to all waka whanau
It is with absolute pleasure that Manukau Outriggers and Portage Crossing invite you all to a day of racing on the Manukau Harbour. Yes ... the Manukau Harbour at Mangere Bridge.
Manukau Outriggers was named after the Manukau Harbour (not Manukau City). So for this regatta, Manukau will host at our place of origin.
Manukau Harbour is renowned for its sweeping currents, narrow channels, "washing machine" chop and cross wind – so this venue should provide natural challenges to make it a race of wits, endurance and skill.
In saying that, waka and people safety is paramount.
Of course, an appropriate course will be provided for juniors and development paddlers..
