Please note that there is a change in the order of the races than that of the previous 2024 Rotohoe events: 

Race 3 is the W6 18 km Men's race and 

Race 4 is the W6 18 km Women's & Mixed race.**

The Rotohoe Series is an established series of open-water waka ama races that has provided kaihoe from Rotorua, Te Puku o Te Ika and further afield with the opportunity to paddle waka ama on (Lake) Rotorua and surrounding lakes. It is a stepping-stone for novice kaihoe into more competitive paddling, as well as providing an opportunity for competitive kaihoe to build during the winter months towards national and international races.

Rotohoe is also about Ruamatā Waka Ama maintaining its connection to the moana, which have provided sustenance, and been traversed over, for many generations. It is a part of Ruamatā's greater commitment to Oranga Tangata: healthy lifestyles, healthy whānau, in particular te reo Māori and kaupapa whānau.

2024 will be the 20th Anniversary of the running of the Rotohoe Series, established in 2004.
