Te Karere: Waka Ama kaumātua still on top of his game
Frank Herbert is an old hand at waka ama racing. He commentated on the first Waka Ama Nationals in the 90s and continues to race today, despite the fact he turns 74 this year.

Takapuna Beach Cup - Junior & Novice Sea Changes Race Removed
The Takapuna Beach Cup Committee have had to make a decision to remove the Junior & Novice Sea Change Races from the Sunday's format, this is due to safety regulations. We will revisit this option later on in the year.

2014 Nationals T-Shirt Designer- Paul Marshall-Slade
This year we thought it would be extra special if we asked the designer of the original 1990 Shirts (And many other shirts!!) to design this years 25th Anniversary shirt. Paul -Marshall-Slade has been involved in Waka Ama in Aotearoa since it started and we are honoured that his designs are still part of our sport today! Here is a little History of Paul's continued involvement in Waka Ama. - Thank you Paul for all you have done and continue to do.
