mona - was a scorcher thats for sure.
Was a pity about lane 1...10 out of 12 teams who turned in that lane got DQ'd. is it the teams or the lane? probably one of the few regattas where being in lane 1 was a disadvantage. probably got to the point where teams started thinking they would forfeit and save their energy for the 500m if they were in lane 1. DISAPPOINTING for the paddlers though

:) - The Lanes were good just the steerers

DB - Always nice to hang out at the lake. Would have liked some W6 finals thou. It is nice to have a complete regatta, not just a play. We can do that at training. Give the event some real credentials. Cheers to all that worked hard on the day for the rest of us.
Train hard over summer and lets take it to the other regions.

Crazy Mum - Lanes were narrow, but makes for a good practice for nationals. Enjoyed the day, would have loved another race!

RM - great day, well organised and some excellent racing. Credit to the region and clubs for supporting the event.

Anon - Singles races were great. good to see they have finals so they get some tough competition. Like like to see results for two of the opens races. Pity there was no final for the teams. would have made it more worth while.

Anon - It was a great weekend of racing.Shout out to the organisers and all the helpers. Its a real shame we had no W6 finals because everyone had to wait around ova half the day just to race twice only instead of three times. Would have made it a whole lot worth while for the majority of paddlers (especially for the kids) if we had W6 finals.

Old Kiwi Paddler - A big Hi from Aussie,

Wow looked like a great day with great results and great intentions by the organisers.

Just remember folks the National Body runs the best regattas in the world....so our expectations and standards are very high.

Good on the folk who made this happen, you got people racing... and now everyone will be able to gauge who their compitition is for the Nationals, even if making OC6 finals happen was not to be (This time)

And lane bias will always be there... you guys are the best paddlers in the world.... Cope with what is presented to you...learn from these experiences. Gain these skills, share these skills and use them to NZ's advantage when up against the rest of the world.

It was awsome to see sponsors comming on board too.
Keep up the good work.

I miss the Nationals big time.
There really is no Regatta or venue like it in the World.... and being in the company of so many world champions...what an atmosphere...A true buzz.
