Waka Ama/Va'a is included as part of the overall Canoe program that also includes Slalom, Dragon Boat, Canoe (K1, K2, Ski) and Canoe Polo. The Waka Ama events Sprints and Distance racing are taking place at Lake Pupuke and Takapuna Beach and will be for age groups 40, 50, 60 & 70. 

SOME IMPORTANT THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW: 

• Teams do not have to be club teams
  
• Teams can be made up of a group of mates from all over
• You do not need to qualify, you just need to enter
• We expecting 650 Waka Ama paddlers 
• Entries close in January BUT entries are filling up fast and when we reach capacity numbers entries will close. That may be well before January. So do not wait until the last  minute to enter or you and your team will miss out. Sports like Softball and Hockey are almost full with entries. 
• We already have entries from paddlers from Australia, Canada and Europe. 
• Your entry enables you to do Sprints and Distance, Singles and Team events.
