Whaingaroa Whanau Hoe Waka proudly hosts the 20th Annual Whaingaroa Hoe on May 3rd 2014 at Te Kopua, Whaingaroa.

Founded in !995 by Hotu and Kim Barclay-Kerr and the Nga Tai Whakarongo whanau.

Whaingaroa Whanau Hoe Waka wishes to acknowledge the effort and commitment of many (organizers, paddlers and whanau) over the 20 years, maintaining and growing the Whaingaroa Hoe into the longest running and one of the largest long-distance waka ama race in New Zealand.

Our waka whanau and the Whaingaroa community look forward to hosting all paddlers and whanau in Raglan soon.

ALL TEAMS/PADDLERS >>>>>>>>>>>Please read the attached panui carefully.
All participants are required to sign a waiver and report to registration on race day and also attend the relevant race brief.

Entries in some divisions may have to be capped to maintain our support vessel to waka ratio.

Please enter early to avoid disappointment.

HOW TO ENTER

• Online entries are open.

• All affiliated clubs are required to use online entry process.
To promote genuine ‘club crews’ all entries must be done by your club representative who has the login for the Waka Ama website (same way as Nationals).

Waka Hire
Unfortunately Whaingaroa Whanau Hoe Waka has no waka available for hire. Please contact other clubs directly for enquiries about waka they may be bringing.

Race Registration and Safety Checks open at 7.30am. Karakia is at 8am.

Novice and Junior 8km
We have over 50 waka to check and get onto the start line at 9am.
Safety check for this race (Junior and NOvice 8km) will close at 8.45am.

Check the attached 'Registration Process for all Competitors'
1. Be on time and be organized.
2. Our races will run to the programmed times.
3. All teams must report to race registration to collect race pack.
4. All participants must sign the waiver (U18 must be signed by guardian).
5. All waka must be safety checked.
