Description

The Mauao Hoe Tahi Paddle Event (formerly known as the King and Queen of Mauao) is about discovering the exciting disciplines of Stand Up Paddle Boarding (SUP), Waka Ama and Ski Paddling at one of New Zealand’s most beautiful destinations, Mount Maunganui, Tauranga.

The organising team would like to acknowledge Hoe Aroha Whanau o Mauao Waka Ama Club and Tauranga Moana Outrigger Canoe Club for their volunteers and assistance with support boats.  Our local clubs are the foundation of all our watersports here and it is fantastic that we can all work together to provide events such as these.

This event is locally owned and operated by Te Puna i Rangiriri Trust with the support of the Mauao Trust and the Tauranga Moana tribes - Ngāi Te Rangi, Ngāti Ranginui & Ngāti Pūkenga’. This event promotes key messages including healthier lifestyles and promoting the cultural significance of Mauao and Tauranga Moana to the local and wider community.
