Could you pick this finish by eye ?
With less then half a second between 1st and 2nd place, this race would be extremely difficult to time by pushbutton, but for the photo finish operator the winning margin is clearly visible.

Note: Due to the way the camera records the photos, the people and boats appear distorted. This is normal for a photofinish camera.
